Elaine Creasser, Tile Collection
In 1992 Elaine came up with the idea of a tile business based on her own frustrating experience in trying to find unique tile in Charlotte for her own home. Using a credit card for $20,000 in start-up capital, Elaine has followed her instincts to develop Tile Collection into a $14 million company with 55 employees today. Tile Collection provides total turnkey services for tile and natural stone from design and selection to installation. A 7,500 s.f. showroom presents the area’s most extensive tile, granite, and natural stone selections. The company also has a 10,000 s.f. fabrication facility, specializing in custom countertops, vanities, and fireplaces in granite and natural stone.
This year Tile Collection celebrates 16 years in business. The company has been voted among Charlotte’s Best in numerous showhouses and publications. Elaine has been named Trade Member of the Year from the Interior Design Society and has been a finalist for NAWBO-Charlotte Woman Business Owner of the Year. Elaine’s business philosophy is focused around hard work, honesty, and optimism. She is a true believer in the company’s role in the community is to make a difference, be it in their industry, marketplace or for those less fortunate. Her company has given more than $110,000 in monetary donations, installations and products over the past 12 months to Charlotte Rescue Mission, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Blessings in the Storm and community schools. She considers her husband and their children, Matthew and Jennifer, as her greatest accomplishments and sources of drive and inspiration.
